Scholarship Program

ROTARY CLUB OF EDMOND
GUIDELINES FOR EDMOND AREA HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS:
1. Three students will be selected by the Rotary Club of Edmond. Applications may be submitted by students attending Edmond Memorial, Edmond North, Edmond Santa Fe, Oklahoma Christian Academy, Oklahoma Christian Schools, or in an accredited equivalant Home School Program. Candidates must permanently reside in the Edmond school districts.
2. Each of the three scholarships will be in the amount of $2,000. The funds will be dispersed by the Rotary Club of Edmond.
3. The funds will be dispersed at the rate of $500 per semester for the Fall and Spring semesters of both the Freshman and Sophomore years. Proof of enrollment must be provided to the above address each semester and funds will be paid directly to the college or university by the Rotary Club.
4. Applications will be distributed in December of each year through the counseling offices of the school. Each application should be returned to your counselor BEFORE FEBRUARY 14, 2010 TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR REVIEW AND SELECTION.
5. This application must be filled out in detail AND MUST BE TYPED. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
6. The primary basis for granting this scholarship will be determined as follows: 35 percent community service, 35 percent economic need, 20 percent academics and 10 percent leadership / activities.
REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE THE SCHOLARSHIP:
1. High School G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher ( Grades 9 through 12 average ) OR minimum A.C.T. score of 20.
2. One letter of recommendation. (The individual must not be related to the applicant and cannot be associated with your high school.)
3. Student must be enrolled as full-time student (12 or more semester hours) to maintain eligibility.
4. Student must maintain 2.5 G.P.A. in college to maintain eligibility. Official Transcript for proof must be submitted to the Rotary address each semester.
5. Student and his or her family are invited to attend the Rotary Club of Edmond luncheon to receive the award.
6. Family members of any active member of the Rotary Club of Edmond will not be eligible to recieve the scholarship.
